DJ Swap was born from a boombox, at the age of 10 he took to spinning tunes for school parties on a portable music machine. By 12, he had mastered the art of making mixtapes using two cassette decks and his selections were in high demand. In doing so, he cannonballed himself toward a set future, shaping sounds behind the decks and fashioning nights.

He got his professional break in 2003 and within a few months was called to take up the Resident DJ mantle at Mumbai nightclub ‘Red Light’. His nearly 5 years of deck duties were so spellbinding that the waves of his sounds reached the other end of the city that never sleeps, where he soon took up residency at another hotspot ‘Trilogy’. His Hip-Hop Wednesdays moved with him but his time at Trilogy was not spent just behind the console. Here, he curated the artist roster, ran the music department, and was an active part of the management. The past few years has seen DJ Swap embracing the ethos that drives Soho House and its members and has led him to shape a sensory experience for Soho House Mumbai since 2019, where he has taken this celebration of cultures and people, the open-hearted embrace of the LGBTQ community, the support of artists in various fields, exclusivity, and extravagance; and has put it all into contouring some extremely diverse nights.

Blurring the lines between style, song, and structure, yet revealing trend, tune, and technique, DJ Swap is the one you want behind the decks at your wedding. His selection of melodies and patterns in the over-populated genre that is Bollywood, cuts through all the clutter and noise effortlessly. His care of choice for creating the perfect soundscape and his penchant for dropping an impeccable tune at that perfect moment leaves no doubt that you are grooving to the ‘baddest’ in the business.

Music Production is the road that Swap is now exploring. Its Hip-Hop vibe speaks to a way of life that he has grown up to in India and wants to share with the world.
